Glyptic (A.I.2116)

Glyptic (scarab) from Ayia Irini, a small oval object photographed large on a grey card — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04407j. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A small oval object, apparently of stone, fills most of a pale grey card. Its domed upper surface shows dark mottled patches and a row of notches along the edge, and a flatter lower band carries more ridges. The surface looks worn and the fine detail is hard to read in this print.
