Glyptic (A.I.2238)

Glyptic find from Ayia Irini: a small stone object, photographed on a grey card mount — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04344aaa. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A small object with a rounded, elongated outline fills the centre of a photograph mounted on a grey card with a cream border. Its surface is pale with dark, mottled patches and darker edges, and the fine detail of any design is hard to make out. The image is soft and high in contrast.
