Glyptic (A.I.2060)

Oval stone seal or gem from Ayia Irini, dark with a rough, worn surface — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04343i. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A small oval object with a dark grey body, pale highlights and a rough, pitted surface is shown centred on a grey card mount. Its outline is rounded at the ends and slightly irregular, and any engraving on the surface is too indistinct to read. Handwritten notes and a partly visible number label appear at the edges of the mount.
