Glyptic, scarab (A.I.2030)

Scarab seal from Ayia Irini with incised signs in oval panels on its flat base — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04341e. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A scarab seal shown face on, its oval outline chipped and worn at the edges. A raised oval frame encloses a central panel with a row of short incised strokes and a curved sign, flanked by two side panels carrying curved marks. The grey tones suggest a pale stone surface, shown on a light card mount with a number label in the corner.
