Glyptic, A.I.2427 Ayia Irini

Stone scarab from Ayia Irini, shown alone in a photograph. — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04079m. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A small dark object of oval, domed form, its upper surface streaked with lighter patches and its lower edge rough and uneven. It is shown alone against a pale grey ground on a card mount with a narrow border. The photograph is soft, so surface detail and any incised design are hard to read.
