Glyptic (A.I.2110)

Engraved seal from Ayia Irini, oval in outline, with a symmetrical pattern of curved and radiating lines — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04075f. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A seal face with a rounded, oval-rectangular outline fills most of a photograph mounted on a cream card. Its design of thick curved and tapering lines is arranged symmetrically around a central horizontal element, with parallel bands running along the edges. The surface looks pitted and worn, and a partly visible handwritten note runs along the bottom of the card.
