Limestone Cypro-Greek I Kition III

Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C02873. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A limestone head shown in right profile, standing on a small stone base with a white mount beneath it. The head wears a wide band with rows of raised ridges and a pronounced ear, and the rough, pitted surface shows wear. A dark hollow sits near the eye, and the nose and lips are clearly modelled on the face.
