Limestone Cypro-Greek I statue, Kition II, S.

Standing limestone statue from Kition, figure with arms straight at its sides and fists clenched — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C02829. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A standing limestone statue photographed frontally against a plain pale background. The figure wears a cap-like head covering that frames the face, with broad shoulders and arms held straight down at the sides, fists clenched. A band runs across the waist above a long, plain garment reaching to the base, and the pitted, weathered surface is visible throughout.
