Pottery White Painted VII (V.8.5)

White Painted VII vessel from Vouni, two-handled, with dark painted bands on a pale body — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C02032a. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A pale two-handled vessel with a rounded body that tapers to a pointed base stands upright on a sandy surface. Two loop handles rise from the shoulders to the rim, and a dark painted band runs vertically down the front of the body, with dark horizontal bands around the middle. A thin crack crosses the body, and the surface is worn in places against a plain grey background.
