English, translated from the French record

Terracotta head with a headdress, classed as a veiled woman (agent du culte?), from the area south of the rampart, square K VI/δ4, Classical period; inventory Tc_2032, slide C_5280, negative 01231_04. H. 9 cm. Oval face with no detail, only the curve of the brows, eyes and the line of the nose faintly suggested; hair in a continuous frontal roll reaching down over the ears. A veil lies flat over the hair, separated from it by an incised line and following the curve of the skull, so that it resembles a bonnet. Short necklace of small round beads at the neck. Traces of red paint on the veil; the veil was perhaps entirely painted red. Solid mould-made, with a flattened back closed roughly (burrs and bumps). Complete head with the neck and the start of the bust, but the surface is largely torn away. Ochre fabric, poorly fired, very sandy and flaking. Inventory 1969-09-11; 11 September 1969.
