Fragment of a quadruped figurine, head and neck, Salamis
Object card: 1968. Mission archéologique française de Kition-Salamine (MOM, Lyon), Nakala, SAL_4503. "Fragment of a quadruped figurine, head and neck, Salamis". CC BY 4.0. Resized.
Fragment of an unmoulded quadruped figurine comprising the head, neck and start of the forequarters, from the area south of the rampart, square K VI/δ3. The back of the head is broken and the ears are missing; red fabric with white slip and red paint, solid modelling, H. 5.5 cm. The overall fineness of the forms and the elongated head profile perhaps bring this quadruped close to horses. Inventory Tc_1681; 3 October 1968.
