Object card: 1968. Mission archéologique française de Kition-Salamine (MOM, Lyon), Nakala, SAL_3579. "Limestone lion sculpture, Salamis, square K VI/γ4". CC BY 4.0. Resized.
Lion sculpture in soft white limestone, 9 cm high, with a worn surface and the front part badly damaged; the tail is wound round the right hip, in the same pose as SAL_1788, but the work is less careful. A triangular hole pierced under the belly to free the body is absent between the front legs, which form a thick block, giving an overall impression of heaviness. Found in the area south of the rampart, square K VI/γ4 (Salamis, Cyprus), 9 September 1968. Object inventory Sc_0106.

en particulier, la pierre qui est percée d’un trou triangulaire sous le ventre de l’animal pour dégager le corps, ne l’est pas entre les pattes de devant qui font un bloc épais. L’ensemble donne une impression de lourdeur.
