Object card: 1966. Mission archéologique française de Kition-Salamine (MOM, Lyon), Nakala, SAL_0555. "Bronze provincial Roman coin, Campanopetra". CC BY 4.0. Resized.
Bronze provincial Roman coin from Campanopetra, Salamis, dated to the 2nd century AD, inventory M_0166; square K V/γ10; B 24 (?). Diameter 33 mm, weight 14.75 g. The large flan is completely worn, with two countermarks, one rectangular with two inscribed lines, TRAIAN (A and N linked) / DACIC; the other, round, shows a small bust of Hadrian to the right with the legend AYTOKAI / AΔRIA. The flan is probably that of a heavily worn Cypriot 'sestertius', probably of Claudius I. Inventory M_0166; 24 March 1966.
French, as on the record
l'autre ronde avec un petit buste d'Hadrien à dr. et la légende : AYTOKAI / AΔRIA. Le flan doit être celui d'un « sesterce » chypriote très usé, probablement de Claude Ier.
