SURFACE FINDS 57

9/28/46 A morning was spent picking up terracottas from the surface in the area of the Archaic Altar. The yield was small in the Street 1 East area & smaller still in the Trench 9 No. area, but fragments from both were found to join others originally excavated. Terracotta fragments in large numbers were found, however, some distance west of Street 1, some washed, and it appears that these were inadvertently dumped from Street 1 East finds.
