Sect of drain, W. end of S. passageway, looking W.

When the door was put in the passage between N. Block & N.W. block a narrow paved ramp just over 1.00 wide was laid from the west. The N. porators of the ramp or steps to the vestibule was put in, and the parastyd as well. The line of the Main ramp still shows on the N. side of the S. parastadid

Wall 13- (Latrine) & wall-2- seems to go together, -13- is poor chip on N. side, but has some tile on S. side. Flagstone floor goes with the building of these two walls. and low step to S. Also with first building of drain Seats, if a latrine on W. & S. side with a diagonal block at angle. Can be little doubt of the purpose of the Room that W:3 Probably W. wall was thickened to fill space.

Drawing: plan; labels: S. wall, 78, 20, 13, D2

Much built up later. Cobble-rubble floor of Room 13:1, about 0.45 higher than floor of Rm W:2. If any door it must have been in N.E. corner of W:2, with a step block now gone. - Where else was an entrance to W:1.? Not in E. wall is certain. Most surely not in W. wall., & not in N. wall, even at N.W. angle. The entrance construction would prevent that and steps inside 17 would be needed. No sign of door or sill from Room W:3. Access could have been had to both W1, W1a, before W. wall of W:3 was built, a period when N & S. walls of W:3 belong. Hence division of latrine goes with W. & E walls of W:3
