End of pattern⅂… of Tepidarium was another pilaster, as shown by the preserved edge of the panel with diagonals. (drawing)
Note change of pattern to shaded zigzag just W. of missing pilaster. Pattern of last diag. panel to W. seems to end opp. prob. of E. face of W. wall of later vestibule to tepidarium.
It is quite possible that semi-circ pool. and square pool on south are additions: 1. Wall of curved bath is aligned with N. wall of hall on that side, but on S. it is the outer arc of the curve that lines up. Foot-bath goes to N. wall, but stops ca 0.40 short of wall at S. leaving one mosaic angle square = circle with double leaf palmettes. bl, wh, red

East wall of. Room 42. The western half of the double thickness is later than the floor. which runs under it. There was in latest period a narrow door arranged in the wall just alongside the rubble facing of the semicircle. Earlier, before the bench, or western half of wall, there was an earlier opening, blocked when rubble facing of ⌒ was built. Earlier E. wall of Room rests on fill, probably working fill for ⌒ Rock channels at bottom of the room. or area E. of 42 may suggest this was the latrine area.
