Nov. 5 Finished removing p 1117-2 + began to clean soft soil further down. This soil is mixed finely with charcoal. Very little gravel or stone. We find fair number of lamps. The [illegible] is unmixed + of quite a different stratum. Depth 1 to 2-3 cms very in color under flow of rock however This bedding 2 however near north rock cut wall. Contains many flecks of soft greenish white tuffa stones (rough) which do occur in 1117-1. + 1115-3
