Bones in Tomb 8 still remaining after G. McF.'s departure 15/VI/41 (V G by request)
SE group. The most complete skeleton here. Lies extended, head toward E or door end of tomb, arms close to sides, legs rather spread apart. Preserved: large part of cranium with teeth, much of spinal column (lying rather obliquely to body as a whole), iliac bones, femurs, both tibiae and fibulae (right pair rather scattered), parts of upper and lower arm bones and of scapulae both sides, right clavicle. The shoulders seem somewhat drawn up toward the neck so that the elbows don't reach very far down.) Beyond the corner of the right shoulder, a large piece of one of the broad bones and 2 other smaller long bones extending E from it: I thought possibly broken-off piece of right scapula and a couple of ribs, but Christo probably right in thinking broad bone fragment too big for the preservation of scapulae in place - must be from something else. 2 long bone fragments beside the head probably also extraneous, though their level, if anything slightly higher than that of the head, makes it hard to assign them to a previous burial. A frag. of one of
