DIARY 2980 10 Jan 52. cont. compact soil with many rough stones from fist to foot in size; about 1/2 bucket of roof tiles. 2 handfulls of sherds. 1 pot handle with Cypriot character F1783. No other finds. Stacking tiles on S. wall against e. wall of S. Bldg.

7.80-9.00. Removed 2955-3, same area as yesterday, whitish moderately compact fill but the workman also took some red soil lower down - in comparatively few stones - all rough ones not larger than egg size, except near w. wall of S. E. Bldg at bottom near bed rock where some are up to foot size, - about one tenth bucket of sherds and 10
