May 21'48 pm 3 photos Fallen wall betwn N part of # 21 and threshold. Remove stones clearly belonging to wall under # 21 - c. 35 - E & at ca. - 57 frg of [illegible] tile, The - 535 block in pla. has a little mortar plaster. c 35 E of # 21 in face 8 malls horizontally fxg tile △ 8 × 4 Stones from threshold to 10 fm N end of #21 were practically vertical butts large stone under # 21 slopes abt as 21 itself Next stones, NW mid threshold in disorder (to N next fm # 21) for 70+N fm threshold in higher (or mg E) part of wall Deeper order seems better Course under # 21 continues 0.29 NE c 11 north # 21 & then meets large block of N system of second course below # 19 apparently ("courses" not real, rather layers I imagine)
May 22Photo after cleaning junction W & N part of threshold. Outer part of fallen wall in fair order: N system from N side door opening SW to ca 45 fm face of threshold & 20 N of NW corner (abt un- & step in front of threshold. So system fin Th's pt. N northward to 80 fm threshold & 30 fm NW corner of # 21. Thence westward only at some blocks alongside # 21 [These buttle doubtful as E of these numerous bits of plaster at - 52 & deeper obviously not of original filling but fallen in between stones since these came to their present position. From N end of threshold close to wall 0 to c 40 fm in stones in disorder though general direct that of N system • Southernmost stone of N system when lifted looks not to have been really in place. Belongs to the tumble not to NW system. Long block whose SW corner is 95 fm SE cn of # 21 & .80 from threshold appears to be the very southernmost stone approximated in proper relative position of the N. system - When in place its top was about in a line ca. 20 below bottom of #19 is. ca 41 below inner window sill.
