(7/VI/41) Tr. 43 extension Rock cleared except at bottom, where loose stony fill continues down. Various edges & corners cut in the rock, in one case pinned out by small stones, presumably remains of tomb cuttings? The outer end of a dromos of Tomb 1 seems to distinguish itself, rather short wide dromos. The loose fill continues down, in a trench running across the supposed dromos. This, at SW end in our trench, begins to tunnel under a brow of rock (?) We are at ca. 1.00 below SW edge of dromos (?) (rock surface). A sherd recently found, rim of a fire-pan, unpainted una piece of iron at this depth. Picked from the loose stony fill in the scarp of the martyrs, at uncertain depth, stamped Rhodian handle, circular stamp: [illegible] [illegible] (δωυς) pub- of N. 147, 16 Ίων (drawing) Υακ[ίνθιος rose
