what appears to be rock. The scarp of the Tomb 1 dromos sample cuts across to what should be the Tomb 9 dromos, running from near center of Tomb 1 entrance to long cut drom. At bottom the distinguished stratum does seem distinct, having only very small stones. It is not quite the same stuff as appears under stones of door, because the loose fill seems 5 cm. definitely above. The rock floor or sub-floor of dromos of Tomb 9 ends to S in a sharp drop to entrance of Tomb 1. Drop seems at present to be just at entrance, not greater depth for Tomb 1 dromos as a whole. The fill * over the actual stones of Tomb 1 entrance had been dug [illegible] before. Bit of the rock (torrent-fill deposit) preserved bet. stones of Tomb 1 & Tomb 9 actually arched over the loose stony fill but has since fallen away. The present mess in the Tomb 1 entrance consists of an upright stone in place, probably one leaning inward, behind that earth fill with a large stone on top of it — possibly fallen from the wall when Tomb 1 — and Wall A on top of it ? fell in.
