23/V/41 Work continued only in small NE tomb, whence bones cleared. I was in Limassol (hospital).
24/V/41 Trench 43/75 At the end of 22/V a difference in earth remarked which may be start of one? of the dromoses. The margin of this on being worked at by Christo this morning falls in an oblique line a little short of the NE end of the trench. SW margin not yet distinguished. At the NE end thus seems to be a horizontal vertical as well as a vertical distinction: the dromos (?) could be distinguished both from an upper harder whitish? layer of dromos (new substance, not simply the bottom of stratum 3, p. 101) and from clear undisturbed sand below. The dromos (?) fill seems to be the same soft stoneless earth as that of stratum 3, upper sherds, Lot [boxed: 6] - see opp. but sherds changed: if this was a gradual fill the bottom of it will be earlier than the top even without clear change of earth; and Roman glass was found at its Top outside (see p. 105).
