Late yesterday and today, removing skeleton against back wall, beginng (at S end) with head. Reaching the #80 shoulder, Achmet finds small silver coin, points out to me where it was - must have been just about where chin fell on shoulder. Spot indicated has been marked by a nail for placing in plan. Bones of this skeleton now in 5 boxes Achmet remarks Did not come out very solid. that the coin lay near some teeth, as though inside the lower jaw. Level prob. that of "ground S of left pelvis" - see p. 52

NW child (see p. 45-47, 49) since removal of stone etc. shows a few more bones: some ribs, those near center of body curving up, presumably where the fine stone did not go so deep; part of both upper arms lying more or less in right position; lower part of skull with numerous teeth,

Some bones from high level?] difficult to make out, and partly moved since clearing as I believe (before final photograph taken of the skeleton).
Taking up this skeleton. Remove first iron & wood object no. 78 with some of the ground beneath it. The bones save the skull go in one box, the skull, crushed, in the other.
Clear away an extension of the small martyra against the N wall. Extension was at the level of burial no. 4, p. 9, etc., and had some bones on it of the discard that was against the N wall at this level. [margin left: + see McF 57.6, 8] This little 2-stepped martyra may show in some of the pictures of NE skeleton of child. See overleaf.
