Cistern on north side of extension east of \church room<s> passage. W - the are not exactly also opposite. The door of room extension of Room W Christian mosaic with its step would resemble the door on on cast end of north east west mosaic. The cutting for draining flagged area east of east extension of Christian mosaic resembles cutting across in front of door at east end of north extension of East west mosaic.
Note foundation for stone with dentillation and mouldings is has a different foundation, and and from stone directly beside it. It is a different ty kind of stone from stone behind side. The possibility can not be excluded that there was originally another stone here of the same type as the rest of the flagging stones and that it became worn out from constant use and was replaced by block with dentillation. As however there was no no door is cuttings for door on west side of room with flagstones there may well have been no. door on north side, just an opening by which water might be withdrawn.

That this was a place from which water might be withdrawn is attested by sheet of cement that extends below.
The extension of the drain along to the cistern east of Room W along the wall of room with flagstones was probably to drain the flagstoned court east of east extension of Christian mosaic If this was to drain this court, it is probably that the drain was cut behind the east wall of this court to drain both the area behind it and to catch water for the cistern, much of the water coming from the roof over bath proper.
Note the wall seemingly blocking up entrance in east wall po on east side of Room A, the wall on west side of Room A and, the wall on west side of south cistern all contain pipes and are thus probably contemporary with bath. They could have been repaired and rebuilt but this seems unlikely. Note wall west of south cistern has had its third layer cut for this wall vol. II p. 116. The middle of these three walls must go with bath-palace, because it has in it a drain, which fed the middle cistern.
