This indicates that the west wall of large room and its south wall were all built so at one time to conform to a general plan. This one time more or is the same as that when the servants room (A rooms), the entrance mosaic room, and the floor of the rooms to the west of the west mosaic of the mosaic walk were laid.

Beta is is not part of the original plan but a later addition, &

The The crux of the matter lies in the reason why the south wall, of room Beta, rests on soil whereas the other walls rest on bed rock. If Certainly the constructing architect did not always rest his walls in whole or in part on the bed rock. On the other hand If it is a change from the original plan of the architect, could it be part of the change of plan whereby the large room was united into a who one room. Why the floor of Room Gamma be flagged anyway Flagging must be more expensive than an ordinary dirt floor. Could room Gamma be rather a vestibule to room delta which is an entrance room from stairs on west. Certainly, the architect took care to place a vestibule by his oth the main entrance room. Why was the area by the A rooms just inside the door flagged. Certainly if Room Delta is an entrance room, the only possible explanation of Room Gamma is that of side vestibule. But is a side vestibule necessary? P.T.O.
