In south trench of Room Zeta, fourth layer. rests on bed rock. Fifth layer begins 10-15 cm below edge of [bed] cutting in bed rock. No cutting in any layer.

In Southeast corner of large room cleared down to bed rock. No cuttings, filling only.

Cleared top third layer around SW column support in large room. There appears no cutting in fourth layer for column support. The cutting in third layer was probably only for purpo to straighten out or fix the column support. The EW wall across room and the NS wall north of EW wall were of the first period and the blocks in the EW and W walls are in that part of those walls which were not straightened out. rebuilt. The third layer covering walls foundation of walls, that \it\ is a covering as best as we could make out, are of the building before it was rebuilt.

In the room west of large in the north trench the cutting below second layer goes to bed just about to bed rock and begins about 120 cm west of east wall. east west

In the street, there was a cutting in our first layer along side the wall of the building In the second and third layers there is no real cutting only the soil becomes softer as next to wall. On the top of the third layer, there were a number of rock chippings. Third layer, hard and a floor. v. p. 64

In trench east of street, the second layer is of stones resting on a soft soil.

why?In west part of room delta, there is a layer of pebbles which ^went west under NS wall long NS wall. This layer was cut for middle wall the NS wall just west of large general NS wall, that is for reconstruction of this wall, so that this layer is to be construed with lower part of middle wall. At later date the wall west of south wall of room delta was lay laid on these pebbles and across cutting so that it is later than the upper part of middle WS wall. Just north of these stones was a cutting with a the traces also of a stones or other objects on north side of cutting. The layer of pebbles beyond this line are lower than the pebbles south of this line. and the pebbles are not so frequent.
