8. top of Drain cover slab over Curium Gate wall -, 95
The paving blocks selected are believed to be in situ and not to have settled.
The paving is seen to slope .21 in the distance (--- m) between the west end of the S. Bldg stylobate and the juncture of the plateia and Street 1
It seems to slope uniformly another .24 between this juncture and and the line of the foundations forng the east wall of Curium Gate. The paving block #6 and the top of two tops of drain wall #5+7 (with the restoration of a drain cover slabs) seem to be at about the same level.
The level of the top of the drain cover slab #8 may be that of the paving within the interior of Curium Gate.
The sharp drop between drain wall block 7 & drain cover block 8 (-.65 + cover slab + -.95) suggests steps between interior of Curium Gate and plateia level.
The steps of Curium Gate to the east should accommodate themselves to the levels within the gate to the west. Possibly a platform landing between C Gt + the tops of the steps at west.

S. Bldg colonnade + Palaestra gate The level of the floor in the colonnade of the S. Bldg is undoubtedly constant. The steps of the leading from the palaestra up to the colonnade should rise to the level of this floor (or of the stylobate of the S. Bldg ?) Christophi's section of the preserved steps shows that the steps must be are continuous without a landing up to the S. Bldg level.
Palaestra gate Arch. 10 blocks of a probable 15 or 17 remain of the arch. As arranged they provide a half chord of 1.06 and a perpendicular of .46
