Daniel says in mss. on Area A Stratum B (House III. 2) "Two sections of the <- plaster floor in it were cleared. This plaster appears to have been a composition of chavara and lime; it was a favorite building material in all periods on Bamboula.

July 2, 1954 portion is roughly 80 cm by 140 cm. with more no doubt unexcavated. This is the best example of such flooring, or indeed anything approaching cement, which I know of at Bamboula. There is every possibility that the entire floor of the NW room was thus paved though its appearance now is that of much pitted and pocked bed-rock. At right angles to foundation trench, continuing the NW-SE wall with a jog ^(55 cm wide) and forming a SE room, is one course of a wall. The floor throughout this room is also pitted, pocked chavara. Both walls in the room are composed of the small irregular stones characteristic of dwellings in Bamboula.
