Start clearing below the 8.00 - 8.11 = 8.19 floor. In the S.E part we dig through a thin level of many successive thin trod strata, clearly trod accumulation, to a firm chavara floor at . This continues, with some unevenness, to a clear break in the NW section. Here a hard gritty red level runs W. of a cutting in the bedrock along the S half of this part of 21:14. In the N half the earth is less gritty. The hard gritty level varies from 3 to 10 cm. in depth, & comes down on a very loose red level with many stones, possibly the remains of an early wall. None of these stones are in-situ. All, and a good many sherds, rest on a level about 10 cm. above bed-rock. It must have been an open level for a while, but it doesn't look like a well trod floor.
