16: 10, 11, 13

24-3-39 The division between 16: 10, 11, 13 is not yet entirely clear. It may be one large room. Surface intrusions have caused a great deal of damage here. They were not entirely cleared above, and have caused some confusion of sherds until the 9.79 (a) = 9.93 (b) = 10.00 (d) level, to which we have now cleared.

27-3-39 Photos Bam.'39. 15-18 with of tr. 16, with 10, 11, 13 at 9.79 = 9.93 = 10.00. Start digging below 9.93 in 16:11. Dig through hardpacked earth, greyer than is usual in building debris on the Bamboula. This may still be disturbed.

3-4-39 Deal drastically with the intrusion and clear, in 16:10 to a xapápa floor lined with small stones, which looks like a bathroom, at 10.07, and in 16:11(13) to xapápa at 10.25. A very firm clayey fill was found over these floors. Several stones which appear to be in situ are left. 16:11 + 16:13 are one room. [margin left: 16:10, outside bath, plaster at 10.12]
