The composition floor is at 3.74 at point e of plan, p. 120. It is badly chewed by intrusions.

2-6-38 In the east extension there is much disturbance, but we manage to find dark reddish earth in several places, at 3.62 at point j (p. 120).

In the E.3-6-38 Dig below Photos R6-7 of 15:2 at 3.62. Dig below 3.62, through mixed blown & grey earth with numerous stones & clay surely tumble, and find a consistent sandy level, brown with grey spots (the spots do not correspond with those in the earth above; there is an excellent cleavage), at 3.94.

4-6-38 Photos R10-11 of composition floor at 3.74. Remove this floor, (3.74) of pure chavara, and find rather gravelly brown earth at 3.84. Dig below this, and find another firm layer with chavara. sandy grey earth at 3.89 (to p. 155)
