25-5-38TRENCH 12 S (from p. 103) (III)

Dig below 7.92 in the northern third, finding a very hard layer of greyish mud. This seems actually to be the foundation for the white clay, already noted in spots at 7.92. We find the white level in many places, and clear to it first. It runs past the large triangular stone (on its east), though the earth over this level becomes cleaner and harder (a clear change) in the line of the S. face of this stone. This white floor slopes down to 7.96.
