25-5-3824 25-5-38 Dig below 11.68 = 11.81 through mixed earth with much white, and find red earth at 11.73. Dig through this and find red earth with white grits at In the N-W there is a change to sandier earth with green particles. Digging through this we still find a change of earth by the N-S wall. The change of earth noted above is not a floor, so we continue down, without changing sherds, and start to find gritty red-brown earth with a few large stones, at 11.92. The change of earth at the west continues. (the "N-S wall")

26-5-38

30-5-38 We have been digging below 11.92 for some time, through sandy reddish brown earth with large stones and bricks, with several slight changes of earth but no clear level. All this ends, however, with a consistent sandy brown level, slightly greyer than the earth above, at 12.03 (N.W) = 12.28 (SW) = 12.61 (SE). Cut through this and find another (to p. 141)
