14-5-37 TRENCH 2 from p. 14

East extension: Clear 10.55 = 10.96 level and then remove it, digging through fairly loose sandy red-brown earth, to a stiff brown redder level at 10.66 = 11.02. The tops of walls appear at this level on the N + E sides of unit 26. This level is the same throughout the extension.

15-5-37 Unit 10: Finish clearing the 10.53 = 10.67 floor. It ends on a line at the North, its edge and that in unit 8 (10.44 = 10.51) leaving space for a wall separating the two, now missing. In the south + east the floor is cut, and there is red-brown earth in the cutting. The top of a small pot shows in one place. Dig below 10.53 = 10.67, through packed sandy earth, rather uneven in colour, varying from grey to brown, and start finding the composition floor at 10.57 = 10.71. This slopes up in the north to the line of the wall to unit 8 noted above. In the south (west (To p. 19)
