3.3.38LIST OF JOINS : Comment (108)
2:1 The archaic disturbance affected much of this room, including a corner of the 9.62 = 9.75 (9.77 = 9.80) floor, as shown in the section, p. 90. The sherds of P733 found in the disturbed area in 2:8-9 were doubtless scattered at this time. The sherd of P747 found on the (2:9) 9.90 = 9.94 floor of 2:9, however, show that this floor must be contemporary to or younger than 9.77 = 9.80 in 2:1, thus bearing out the monumental evidence that both are of Period 2.
: 2:3 The sherds of P791 found in 2:16 are unnecessary evidence of the disturbances in the north part of 2:3 (2:16) and all of 2:16.
: 2:5 The sherd of Sh 108 found in the upper level probably got there with earth from below. There is no evidence of contemporaneity of levels.
2:8 The western part of the room was practically undisturbed. The eastern was much disturbed. Sh 70 + 71, joining sherds from patently disturbed areas in 2:13 + 2:19 must be connected with the big archaic intrusion. The sherds of P764, most of which (to p. 109)

(109) from p. 108 2:8, contd. were found in 2:8 in the ash of the fireplace of Per. 2, and on the Per. 2 floor (2:10) of 2:10, directly under (roof?) tumble, show the contemporaneity of the destruction of these levels, and give valuable evidence for the type of pottery in use at the end of Period 2. The sherd found at 10.26 to 10.37 to 10.30 probably fell among the flagstones and was thus recorded as on the floor rather than on it. The 3 joins from the structure of the fireplace were probably accidentally incorporated in the rebuilding of Period 3
(2:12) The sherds of P754 (2:12, Pit 2) from the structure of the fireplace may be from the 1st building (Per. 2). In any case they show give additional information of the contemporaneity of 10.26 = 10.37 in 2:8 and 10.23 = 10.42 in 2:12.
