Unit 21 and door of unit 26

The stratification of this area is at last clear.

cf Sh 7252. Below this is a thick fill of red-brown earth with limestone grits, which has been dug as several levels, but which is actually: Unit 17: 10.94=11.08 Unit 21 original: 11.13=11.18 Unit 21, E.ext.: 11.19=11.33 Unit 26: 11.03=11.08

Unit 8, East: continuing clearing below the 10.61=10.67 level we find a fairly regular floor at 10.62=10.44. In places it is of white composition (crushed limestone, - this is 2 or 3 centimeters higher), elsewhere it is typical hard-packed earth floor, clayey with a good deal of sand + ash - generally grey.

(P 781) A deep pot is found sunk in this floor, at one of the places where the white floor is preserved. The pot is ca. 2 cms below the floor - and the mouth of the pot is sealed to the floor with a levelled surface of chavara.

That the earth over the floor was fallen roof matter and not a floor accumulation is indicated by the way in which it goes down by to the pot in places, and is in it in chunks but An accumulation would perhaps have filled the pot altogether, but probably kept it open.

In the center of the unit is a large area, mostly but (to p. 69)
