from p. 111 earth at 11.62 = 11.67. East of the wall is dark brown earth with a great deal of coarse sand and some small pieces of limestone (11.70) The wall is incomplete, missing to the south, but there is a change to brown earth with fine sand in the line of the wall. The sherds include archaic in this brown earth.

Unit 19: Dig below 10.50 = 10.63, finding a level with many stones in the north at 10.53 - 10.70. In the south there is a packed yellowish brown earth layer with a good amount of ash and red brick which looks burnt. This level is at 10.55 = 10.92, joins the stony level in the N., and the level in old trench #2. Many sherds of thin ware were found in the ash on this floor.

The wall to unit 8 goes down in the north, & but from the point where the post support is in unit 8 on south, the wall seems to rest on the 10.50 = 10.63 floor. Photos Bam 90 (double exposed?) & 92 of unit 19 at 10.55 = 10.92

Start digging below 10.55 = 10.92 in the south, immediately finding much fallen brick in yellowish earth. The brick stops ca. 4 cm. above a floor.
