12.4.37| TRENCH 2 from p. 69 Unit 11: Dig below 9.86, through stony red tumble and find a level with much gravel and a few small stones, at [illegible] 10.00 . A few traces show that the real floor was of, packed sandy clay (ca. 1 cm) just above this level, and that this level was its foundation. Dig below this level.

Unit 3: Finish clearing the floor at 10.03 = 10.07

Unit 11 15 Clear to floor at 10.64 = 10.71 Photos Bam 61-62 of Unit 115 at 10.64 = 10.71, showing tumble stones before removal (see p. 142)

The fill was relatively free of stones, but there are two large piles, one in the N-E corner, the other in the middle of the south side. This latter seems to be at least in part tumble, so, after photographing it, we start to clarify it, by removing the stones which are obviously not in situ and recleaning.

13.4.37 Unit 15 cleaning of the south patch of stones still shows no order and reveals the fact that most are in the fill above the floor. Start removing them. (to p. 73)
