12.3.37cont'd from p. 135_ TRENCH 4
Remove the tumble in unit 4, and clear to the 8.94 = 9.12 floor, of red-brown earth.
13.3.37 Photo Bam. 12, 13 of unit 4, cleared to 8.94 = 9.12 floor, showing pots in situ.
The floor is uneven and its ancient limits are hard to trace, due in part to the ancient destruction of the building, but above all to the modern intrusions. This floor goes on the east to the wall between units 2 and 4 going with the 9.10 = 9.38 floor in unit 2. It seems probable certain that the 8.94 = 9.12 floor in unit 4, the 9.21 floor in unit 3, and the 9.10 = 9.38 floor in unit 2 are contemporary.
Remove the pots on the 8.94 = 9.12 floor in unit 4 (see p. 136)
In unit 3 dig through the 9.21 floor, removing some pithos and other sherds. On the 9.21 floor near pot # 2, find the cylinder seal, p. 134, # 7.
