TOMB NO. 32 (Lot no. 87)
Drop the digging of tomb no. 32, temporarily, to devote all our attention to clearing dromoi. This tomb seems to have been very badly plundered; the chief reason for continuing with it is the hope of finding more of the architectural fragment mentioned on p. 16, and determining whether or not it came from this tomb, and whether it really is a capital, as first supposed, or the gable top of a stele.

15-11-35Abandon tomb 32. The digging went to a great depth through badly plund disturbed earth. There was danger of collapse if the digging were to proceed, and the prospects of finding anything were very slight.

TOMB NO. 33 (Lot no. 87)
Finish clearing the dromos (save for the strip for stroses)/, at the end of the day. There is grave fear that the tomb has been plundered, as there is a deep section of disturbed earth to a fair depth, and going within the door. Only in the lower part are the stones closing the door preserved. Find many fragments of two pots, one an amphora with triangles on the shoulder, the other maybe a barrel jug, with red bands between black ones, in the fill soil of the dromos, mostly by the "ἁρμοράκι?)/". Some of the sherds of both the (jug?) are actually caught between the stones closing the "ἁρμοράκι(?)". Across the floor of the dromos by the "ἁρμοράκι(?)" are many unworked stones, set with mud, or with decomposed mud brick.
11-11-35 Finish clearing the dromos, and drawing plans. Photo 12 of dromos. Start opening the tomb. Due to the looseness of the earth we have to open the tomb from above. The hard crust of the rock is still in place, with about 20 cm. open beneath it.
