One piece of work that has to be completed soon is the revision of the marking system. The system prescribed by the Greek Ministry of Education and which all schools have to apply is too complicated and unfair. A committee is already at work. It hopes to be able to present for the approval of the administration and of the Ministry a system which will be simpler, fairer, and more accurate.
I want to express the hope that conditions will some day permit the Registrar's office to be housed in a more presentable and better equipped office. At present a free class room with heterogeneous equipment and furniture has to be used during the summer and autumn season. During the shool year a tiny badly lighted office which has scarcely room enough for visitors, is at its disposal. As long as we have the more general problem of lack of space there is no chance of a better solution. An expense, however, of $150 would make it possible to acquire more adequate filing cabinets and some badly needed furniture.
