Straight Lines fixed by theodolite

Theodolite placed on polygonal block on south wall of nave forming triple apses at a point 39 cm. south of north face of block and 23 cm. west of east face of block. First point in line north of this point on polygonal block is exactly 42 cm. south of extreme north-eastern corner of pavement at -0 (Tr.23) see p.16.

The second point east is on north cistern wall 50 cm. distance south of north face of wall and 5 cm. west of west face of east cistern wall (the inner cistern wall which once formed the real wall of cistern). This distance taken by dropping along south face of north cistern wall and marking distance where it fell (or course of same north cistern wall) from under old east cistern wall.

No other points ascertained on this line.

Line perpendicular to this with theodolite set on same point over polygonal block passes through point on extreme north eastern corner of block on north nave wall, where it adjoins triple apses. This point is imaginary as preserved on stone. Nail actually placed just over east face of block at distance of 65.4 cm. from south face of block as preserved. see p.18.

Next point in same northern direction on this line is on late north aisle wall, 12 cm. north of south face of wall and 5.5 cm. west of west face of block east of it on wall. This at distance of 99 cm. north to nail just over east face of block on north nave wall adjoining triple apses.

Next point through which line passes is on south face of modern cistern 40 cm. from east face.

The first point in southerly direction through which line passes is on stone in debris at (blank).

The second point in same direction is on another stone in debris at (blank).
