sherds in bag. About 1/2 bucket of sherds. Nozzle ter. lamp F 1580. Pot handles with incised characters F 1581-3, and 2 figurine frags. placed with sherds. No glass, no other finds. Restoring west stylobate, room 5, south of plinth (restored) 4. Stylobate between plinth 3 and 4 (both restored) already restored. See Architectural Notes, pp. 2496 & 2508. Also Films 147 & 148. Plinth 4 (restored) rests partly on restored stylobate and block (to north side) and partly on ancient block found in situ (on south side). All blocks between plinth 4 (restored) and plinth 5 (restored) are ancient. The large one, the 3rd s. of plinth 4, was found in situ but tilted down toward west. Raised to be level with e. side.
ARCHITECTURAL NOTES. Col. 3 to col. 6 axis to axis distance ..... 7.26 3/7.26 2.42 intercol. (average) cols. 3 to 6 We know that the intercolumniation on w. stylobate is irregular. Between col. 1 & 2 it is 2.33. Both ancient plinths were found in situ as far as their north-south position is concerned with 2 ancient coping blocks taking up the distance between the plinths. There is no doubt therefore about the figure 2.33 m. South of the plinth of column 2 are two more ancient coping blocks which give a lineal distance of 1.845 .27 1/2 ancient plinth col. 2 .275 1/2 restored plinth for col. 3 ----- 2.385 intercolumniation col. 2-3
