After finished removing large blocks which have been drawn as found by draftsman. The plateia between temple A and south building being cleaned up under direction of Mr. Hill. In afternoon found inscription I156 on west face of east wall of street 1 in situ, a second hand block however [handwritten: of doubtless 114] doubtless. Team of men under Mr. Hill's direction moved altar from place where found on east side of street 1 near stairway to temple B (directly on pavement) to position just north of archaic altar and just south of east gate in east wall. Marks on pavement indicate that it had been there for a great many years but not in situ. It was not in antiquity.
