KALORIZIKI, TOMB 36

NB III, p. 32 ff

November 14, 1935Find the dromos of Tomb 36. It is narrow and short. Start cleaning it.

November 15Continue clearing dromos of Tomb 36. Doors appear at each of the long ends of the dromos. That at the east end is of small stones set in clay; that at the west is closed with one large slab and smaller stones, apparently without clay.

November 16Reach bottom of dromos, and draw section of fill. The east door rests on earth. A strosis goes from this to a point about half way up the west end. This would seem to be the second burial, and to indicate the point to which the fill in the dromos was dug out at the time of the re-use of the dromos. The earliest burial would thus seem to be that at the west.

November 18Begin clearing west chamber.

Finish clearing west chamber, and start east one.
