many of them are not quite in situ. There are two, however, which appear to be approximately in their original position both being preserved to their full height. The top of one, at 12.80 m. north, is at level plus 0.29 m. and that of the other at 3.25 m. north is at level plus 0.28 m. The course of plinths is in part preserved. One block in situ appears to be preserved to its original height or very near it at 11.65 m. north where it is at level plus 0.36 m.

The south stylobate wall crosses the early wall on which the east stylobate wall is in part founded at [handwritten: ?] m. west of the east end at level -0.22 m. This early wall belongs to the same building whose south wall serves as a buttress to the south face of the south stylobate wall which is built up against it. (Film 169- ) This early south wall is preserved to the top of a course of orthostates at a maximum level of -0.34 m. These orthostates stand on either face of the walls the space between being filled in once with chips and small stones. The facing orthostates of the later stylobate wall are not extant but the stylobate wall is preserved up to the height of that course at level -0.21 m. at the east end and at level - 0.25 m. at the west end; and some of the backing which stood in the wall behind the facing orthostates is still extant up to the maximum level of plus 0.05 m. (Film 169- ) The thickness of the wall is only 0.78 m. or 0.14 m. less than the stylobate walls of the other exedrae. This thickness is approximately the same wherever the wall have been examined.

The west face of the west stylobate wall has been cleared to bedrock, for 4.20 m. to 1.65 m. from 6.25 m. to 11.60 m. and from 12.85 m. to 15.30m. north of the north face of the south wall(see diagram fig. ) The east face has been cleared to bedrock from 8.90 m. to 10.10 m. north (see section p. ) The course of orthostates is extant the thickness of the wall at this level being 0.87 m.
