There is a small doorway on either side of the main doorway. These brought one to the platform. Each exedra, with the exception of exedra 1 (counting from east to west), communicated with one of the long passages, always the one to the east of it, through a small doorway at the north end of the east wall, between the east doorway leading from the portico and the three steps opposite which brought one up to the top of the platform. One could reach the west arm of the platform by a similar stairway. In exedra 3 the east stairway has been in part restored as well as the bench which ran between the plinths on which the columns stood. The stairway leading to the west arm of the platform in exedra 3 has undergone some modification in the original plan. The 5th column from the door on the west stylobate belongs where it now stands. It was found fallen in the center of the room. The 1st column came from exedra 4 and stood once, probably, on the east stylobate of this exedra at the north end. Drums belonging to other columns have been placed at the approximate points on the stylobates where columns once stood. Some of these, as those near the southwest corner, belonged higher up in the column. Holes will be noticed on the north and south face of column 4 (counting from north to south) and on the south face of column 1 of the west stylobate. These were for bars which carried some kind of temporary material to screen off, as occasion might demand, the platform from the center of the room.
The north arm of the platform in exedra 3 and the south ends of the east and west arms are restored in re-enforced concrete at the approximate level of the ancient floor. This restoration serves now also as a roof for a store room below, built within the foundation of the ancient building. (One can enter the store room is earlier.) [Reader note: marked to be moved?]
