July 8, 1985Dear Spyro:

David Rupp: Publication of Kourion Mosaics

David has written recently, primarily wanting to know who is now in charge of the Kourion publication project and records so that he can obtain whatever he needs for his work. As you may know, he is in a manuscript stage. Earlier he sent what is presumably part of his mss. to me. I could only give it to Carmella to hold for your return in October.

I have written him explaining the situation. That D. Romano is Keeper but presumably only of the collections, i.e. objects. And that someone else would have to be appointed, by you presumably, to supervise Kourion (and Lapithos) public ations and records.

I would suspect that Donald White is the most likely candidate since both David and Keith are overloaded. Donald is expected back on July 22nd.

Whoever you may appoint I will be glad to give a session on the material and status.

It would be good if you could try to make the appointment this summer from Greece. David Rupp will be coming to Philadelphia in late August.

Best to you and Athina -

Sincerely,
