November 20, 1984Dear Ellen:

I am delighted that you can plan to get back to your UM projects. Certainly I will be glad to assist you in any way to promote them.

For the immediate project, the picture book of Cypriote objects, I will need a little more information, i.e., plans in detail for the photography. I have turned in a cover sheet only for your budget request for 1985; just to keep our foot in the door, so to speak. But I will need to follow this up with a complete budget request as quickly as possible since the deadline is already past (Nov. 15).

I think we will have to plan for the final photography for negatives with multiple objects. For individual negatives for each object, 150, the cost would be very high, and I am sure the director would feel it would be out of proportion for this kind of publication.

Could you please find time to sit down with your study prints and at least roughly figure out a total of multiple object negatives? Presumably one would want to combine objects which are consecutive in your catalogue, I should think. I should think we might ask for 8 x 10" negatives if the total number of negatives were appreciably reduced. Try, perhaps, for somewhere between 35 and 50 negatives.

We would greatly appreciate your focus on this aspect at this point. I assume you don't need any drawings?

Best greetings - [handwritten: Roger Edwards]
